Joel Bacon was born on May 6, 1977, and grew up in Blair, Nebraska. He graduated magna cum laude from Luther College in 1999.

Mr. Bacon received his legal education from the University of Nebraska College of Law where he served as a member of The Nebraska Law Review. After graduating with high distinction in 2002, he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable William M. Connolly of the Nebraska Supreme Court from 2002 to 2005. Mr. Bacon is the author of Division Over Diversion: Mitchell v. Helms, 530 U.S. 793, 80 Neb. L. Rev. 354 (2000).

Mr. Bacon joined the firm in 2005. His practice areas include business law, commercial litigation, and estate planning. He also serves an adjunct professor of Legal Writing at the University of Nebraska College of Law. His wife, Kelli, is patiently trying to teach him the game of golf.
