Joel Nelson briefly worked as staff attorney with Legal Services of Southeast Nebraska before his judicial clerkship for the Honorable Richard D. Sievers of the Nebraska Court of Appeals. Joel joined the firm in 1999, where his law practice centers on personal injury, workers’ compensation, insurance defense, and other civil litigation. He brings and defends cases for clients across Nebraska, with over 35 jury trials and more than 60 workers’ compensation trials. Based on his extensive experience, Joel was invited to the Nebraska chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, joining partners Gary Nedved and Jeff Downing. Joel also handles third-party negligence claims from work injuries and has handled complex insurance coverage disputes, including collaboration with partner Joel Bacon for the 2016 “Beatrice Six” wrongful conviction judgments.
