Paul Peter’s fields of special interest are corporate and transaction law, taxation, real estate and estate planning. In addition, Paul has extensive experience in the agricultural and student loan sectors of law. Highly regarded and rated at the highest levels of excellence by his peers in the legal community, Paul represents privately-held and nonprofit companies in Nebraska and throughout the Midwest. He counsels clients in organizational and structural issues, mergers and acquisitions, and ongoing business and contractual relationships. Paul also focuses on complex estate and succession planning, which includes developing family wealth transfer plans with the goal of minimizing death taxes.

Paul particularly specializes in nonprofit and tax-exempt organization law. He represents nonprofit entities including public charities, private foundations, religious organizations, professional societies, and trade associations. Paul’s work includes forming nonprofit organizations and establishing their federal and state tax-exempt status. He assists clients in tax-exempt compliance, and in maintaining, merging, and dissolving various types of nonprofit organizations.

For the last number of years Paul has been recognized as a “Best Lawyer” in the areas of business transactions and taxation law in Best Lawyers in America®. In recognition of his accomplishments in the area of real estate law, Governor Pillen recently appointed Paul as the designated Public Member at Large to the Nebraska Real Estate Commission.

Paul graduated from the University Nebraska College of Law in 1984 where he was the Executive Symposium Editor for the Nebraska Law Review. Currently he is the managing partner of the firm, having served in that capacity since 1993.
